DeepSTIM stimulation vessels

Stimulate the toughest deepwater wells

Designed for endurance and efficiency in some of the world's most hostile environments, DeepSTIM stimulation vessels operate in extreme environments such as the South Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the North Sea, and deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Each high-capacity vessel delivers a wide range of deepwater well services, including matrix acidizing, acid fracturing, proppant fracturing, sand control, and scale control.

Maximize performance and environmental stewardship

New-generation DeepSTIM vessels are the largest—and cleanest—multiservice stimulation vessels ever built. They enable greater storage capacity and longer deployments with less environmental impact. The latest vessels incorporate CLEAN class requirements, including fuel-efficient dynamic positioning, double hull designs, and onboard water treatment. In addition, the vessels can accommodate two crews comfortably, allowing 24/7 operations.

Track parts, documents, and vessel locations

DeepSTIM stimulation vessel management displays KPIs, daily logs, vessel locations, personnel records, and more. All component parts are numbered, tracked, and documented in engineering, manufacturing, and sustaining systems. This, along with key redundancy elements, ensures 100% supportability, global consistency, and minimal risk of downtime.

Reduce risk with advanced safety systems and highly trained specialists

All operations personnel must pass extensive marine training in addition to their specialized well service training. To minimize risk, Schlumberger monitors and operates onboard systems remotely, and transmits and receives job parameters in real time from virtually anywhere.

Identical in specifications, these DeepSTIM stimulation vessels are built to maximize the future productivity of a major North Sea operator’s Norwegian production plans. Holding DNV stimulation class notation, the vessels incorporate environmentally clean design hulls with the latest fuel and emission technologies. High levels of redundancy for power generation, power distribution, and process delivery are included for consistent service quality. For crew safety and comfort, rigorous comfort class requirements are met, and features an enhanced off-duty crew rest environment.

High-pressure pumps deliver a combined 20,000 hhp and are currently optimized for high rates at 10,000 psi. Main treating lines and twin 4-in Coflexip hoses are rated to 15,000 psi if required. A blend of electric and diesel power sources allows the vessels to smoothly and continuously pump any desired rate from 0.1 to 80 bbl/min.

The treatment control room located within the main accommodation incorporates the InterACT global connectivity, collaboration, and information service using Schlumberger V-Sat technology with dual-redundancy high-speed links, enabling onshore and offshore teams to collaborate in real time, no matter where members are located.

DeepSTIM II stimulation vessel delivers high-volume, high-rate, and high-pressure fracturing, acid, and sand control operations for operators in West Africa.

Fracturing, acid, and sand control operations in West Africa

DeepSTIM II stimulation vessel is a result of years of Schlumberger experience in the marine stimulation vessel business. The fully enclosed stimulation plant facilitates automated real-time mixing for operations from simple acid stimulation treatments to complex fracturing operations. The vessel treated wells in the US Gulf of Mexico and Asia before moving to its current base serving West Africa.

DeepSTIM II can perform large proppant operations with 757,500 kg [1.67 million lbm] proppant storage, 16,000-hhp fracturing pumps, and a PCM precision continuous mixer for continuous mixing of either freshwater or seawater with minimal material waste and environmental impact.
