Video In-Service Considerations for FE-Compliant Valves
Key guidance for ensuring the ongoing fugitive emissions–qualified performance of facility valve populations.
Integrated seat technology ball valve
Specifically designed for critical isolation, shutdown, and blowdown service applications, the GROVE IST patented integrated seat ball valve uses an innovative sealing concept and component geometry to provide superior sealing performance in a reduced footprint up to 10,000 psi. In addition to oil and gas applications, the valve is suitable for CCUS and renewable fuels service.
Lower break-to-open torque enables the use of smaller actuation for automated valves; because of its innovative sealing concept and component geometry, the GROVE IST ball valve requires up to 30% less torque compared with a conventional metal-seated trunnion ball valve. Lower torque equates to less wear on moving components.
Industry standards require conventional metal-seated ball valves to achieve ISO-5208 Rate D during pressure testing. The GROVE IST ball valve is capable to achieve up to ISO 5208 Rate A with no visible leakage—a hundredfold improvement over industry standards. Our valve also includes a patented flow-diversion spoiler that protects the primary sealing elements from flow.
The GROVE IST ball valve weighs up to 40% less compared with conventional valves and requires up to 30% less torque, depending on valve size and pressure class. This provides a significant advantage in actuation sizing, resulting in a smaller and lighter package for automated valves. Lower torque also equates to less wear on moving components which benefits overall service life.
Routine maintenance and replacement of GROVE IST ball valve internals are simple and streamlined, reducing your overall facility downtime.
